ROUND 7 WRAP:  Wins all around for the Lions 3rdgrade:  Lions win via forfeit Unfortunately, and for the 2ndweek in a row, the Lions didn't get on the field due to a forfeit.  Having struggled for numbers in the past we are the last to point fingers at others, however Coach Dogg is itching to get his lads back on the pitch and ready for finals.  A win is a win , and he's also the first to tell anyone that the Lions are 5 wins from their last 5 games, and are suddenly looking a solid chance for a top 2 spot this year.   With Reading, the Read More
After a slow start to the season in Round 1, the Lions travelled South of the river in Round 2 to play the Putney Magpies in all 3 grades.  Games against Putney in recent times have been fast and furious, with a healthy dose of sledging from the side lines and plenty of controversy on the field.  Just what everyone likes in a day out at the footy!   Third grade: Lions 12.4 edged out in the last few minutes of the game by the Pies 13.7 With several Lions back in the fold following Round 1, the lads were ready and raring to go Read More

Round 9 is behind us, and 3 big wins puts all 3 Lions teams safely into the finals action.  With one week to go, that doesn’t mean we can all switch off, but it does take a little of the pressure off.  You can all give yourselves a gentle pat on the back, as long as you front up this week to wrap up the regular season with another 3 big wins. Below are Clarence’s observations, ruminations, thoughts and feelings: 3rd Grade:  Defeated Reading 14.15.99 to 9.4.58 We welcomed the Reading Roos to Bounds Green, knowing that they knocked Read More
